Mold K9 Detection Services
Our mold journey began several years ago with an intermittent musty smell in our master bedroom and bathroom. My father, a licensed contractor who owned his own company, inspected the area. Since there were no visible leaks or cracks, he advised against a typical mold inspection. He explained that without a clear point of concern, the only way to know for sure would be to start tearing things out, which could be costly and unnecessary.
Fast forward, and my husband started experiencing strange, unexplained symptoms. Doctors dismissed them as nothing serious, but I was determined to get to the root of the problem. That’s when I learned about mold detection dogs. These dogs are highly trained to locate mold with remarkable accuracy, potentially saving not only money but also our health. The only downside? They’re rare and hard to find.
When we got our dog, Arizona, I initially hoped to train her as a therapy dog so I could bring her into schools and hospitals in my spare time. I began working with a trainer who specializes in therapy, service, protection, and detection dogs. It quickly became clear that while Arizona is sweet-natured, therapy work wasn’t her calling. She’s incredibly driven, thrives on mental stimulation, and loves to work.
With my growing interest in handling, I started training alongside the professional to learn detection handling. I’ve now been involved in this work for the past four years, and it's become a perfect blend of my passions— helping others, behavior, and working with dogs.
Our family started Mold K9 Detection Services to help families all over the Sunshine State rid their homes of mold so they can keep their home safe and mold free.
